The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has released an official notification addressed to central, state, and state private universities regarding the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for conducting Online and Open and Distance Learning Courses. This directive pertains to universities that have submitted applications to the University Grants Commission (UGC) seeking approval to offer such courses.*
*Furthermore, this notification extends its coverage to universities desiring NOCs from AICTE to facilitate technical programs and courses. According to the official communique, “Universities (central, state, and state private) that have submitted applications to the UGC in accordance with Regulation 3(A) and Regulation 3(B)(b) of UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020, along with its amendment, for recognition to provide programs in the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode and Online mode for the academic year 2023-24, with the intention of offering ODL/OL online courses and seeking AICTE’s NOC for technical programs/courses, can apply through AICTE’s portal by remitting the requisite TER charges.”*
*Institutions interested in securing the No Objection Certificate can commence the application process through AICTE’s official website, with the obligatory TER charges to be paid accordingly. It is essential to note that new higher education establishments applying through the technical body’s portal for the first time must utilize the ‘National Single Window System (NSWS)’ portal.*
*The application window for obtaining the No Objection Certificate for the forthcoming academic session in 2023-24 will be accessible until October 31, 2023. Prospective applicants can complete the submission procedure via the official AICTE website. The initiation of the new academic year is scheduled for February 2024.*
