In anticipation of JEE Advanced 2024, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, a prominent second-generation IIT, has been consistently elevating its position. Over the past five years, it has consistently secured a place among the top 50 institutions in the engineering category within the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) initiated by the Education Ministry. While the institute held the 43rd rank in 2022, the latest NIRF 2023 rankings position it at 73.*
*Notably, the research ranking for the institution was at the 39th spot in 2022 but didn’t secure a specific rank in 2023. IIT Mandi has also made significant strides in the Times Higher Education (THE) rankings for 2023, gaining recognition across various categories. In THE World University Rankings 2024, it claims a spot within the 1001–1200th band, and in THE Young University Rankings 2023, it secures a position in the 351–400th band. Similarly, in THE’s Asia University Rankings 2023, it secures a place in the 351–400th band.*
*However, it’s worth mentioning that IIT Mandi did not feature in the QS rankings for 2024. This institution, designated as an IIT under The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011, offers a comprehensive range of programs encompassing undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. These programs include BTech courses spanning various engineering disciplines, and the institute also provides a unique BTech-MTech integrated dual degree program in bio-engineering.*
