IIT Delhi is set to wrap up the application process for admissions to its PhD and MS programs for Semester 2. Prospective candidates have until October 27, 2023, to complete their online applications and submit the required application fee, with the deadline closing at 4 pm on the same day.
Admission evaluations will be based on a series of tests and interviews scheduled to take place from December 1 to December 12, 2023. New student orientation and registration are planned for December 30, 2023.
Commencement of classes for the master’s and PhD programs is slated for January 1, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for a PhD program, candidates should hold a degree in ME/MTech/MS/MD/MDes or its equivalent. Additionally, students with degrees in BTech/BE, MSc/MA/MBA/MBBS can also apply if they have a minimum of one year of work experience.
Admission to the PhD programs typically hinges on interviews with eligible candidates, administered by the relevant Department/Centre/School and their respective Research Committees (DRC/CRC/SRC). These committees may choose to include written tests, multiple interviews, or other assessment methods as part of the screening process.
Generally, PhD programs are advertised twice a year, in March and October. Tests and interviews are conducted in May and December. Furthermore, candidates have the flexibility to seek admission to the PhD program at any time during the year, with applications being processed and interviews conducted by the respective DRC/CRC/SRC committees. This allows PhD scholars to join the Institute at any point during the year.
