Medical Colleges Asked To Submit Postgraduate Admission Details For Academic Year 2023-24

*The National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all medical colleges to furnish information about students admitted to first-year postgraduate medical courses for the academic year 2023-24 by October 28, 2023. The NMC has outlined the necessity for colleges to provide detailed information regarding both the institution and the students.*

*Emphasizing the importance of compliance with various admission criteria, including the National Eligibility Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG), sanctioned capacity, candidate selection procedures, cutoff dates, and stipend disbursement, the NMC has underscored the requirement for admissions to be merit-based, transparent, and equitable.*

*The official notice from the NMC states, “Medical colleges must ensure that all PG course admissions are strictly based on merit and carried out transparently and fairly, as outlined in the Regulations. Any violations will result in the removal of the concerned students from the courses and legal action against the respective Medical College/Institution, as allowed by law.”*

*Colleges are obligated to furnish the following details for each student: course name, sanctioned intake capacity, admission date, student name with registration number and affiliation with their respective state medical council, category, gender, NEET PG percentile, All India Rank, state rank, stipend, and the name of the PG teacher responsible for the student’s admission.*

*The deadline for admission to broad speciality courses is set for October 25, 2023, with the window for data submission extending until October 28, 2023. The NMC will announce the deadlines for super speciality courses and associated data submissions at a later date.*
