ICSI CSEET July 2023: Revised Exam Date and Online Format

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has recently rescheduled the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) from July 8 to July 30. In addition to the date change, the exam format has been modified to an online test conducted through remote proctoring. The institute has also released guidelines for candidates appearing in the exam. Notably, candidates will be allowed to use their personal laptops or desktops for the exam, but mobile phones, tablets, and palmtops are prohibited.

Eligibility Criteria and Exam Pattern

To be eligible for the examination, candidates must have successfully cleared the 10+2 (Senior Secondary Examination) conducted by a recognized examining body in India, or an equivalent examination recognized by the Central or State Government for admission to a Bachelor’s degree course. The viva voce portion has been removed from the CSEET. The exam will have a duration of 120 minutes (two hours) and consist of four multiple-choice question (MCQ) based papers. Each paper will contain 35 questions carrying 50 marks, resulting in a total of 140 questions. Paper 4 will have two sections: Part A with 15 current affairs questions and Part B with 20 questions related to Presentation and Communication skills.

Login Details and Exam Conduct

Candidates are required to log in 30 minutes prior to the start of the examination and will not be allowed to enter 15 minutes after the exam has commenced. Candidates must complete the examination within 90 minutes. The question paper will be in English only. To pass the CSEET, candidates need to score a minimum of 40% marks in each paper and obtain an aggregate of 50% across all papers. Negative marking for incorrect answers will not be applicable. Remote proctoring will be conducted by a control room, and login details will be provided via email and SMS prior to the test. Candidates must possess their Admit Card and a valid ID proof (PAN/Aadhar/any government-approved ID), which will be verified by the proctor before beginning the exam. Candidates should follow the proctor’s instructions and click on the “Appear” button accordingly. Any queries or doubts about the examination can be addressed to the proctor before the start of the exam, as no queries will be entertained once the exam begins. Candidates will have the option to modify their answer key or selected options before concluding the exam or clicking on the finish button.
