Delhi schools to reopen tomorrow? Details here

As per the orders of DoE, Delhi schools were ordered to be closed on July 17 and July 18, 2023. However, after witnessing a slight rise in the Yamuna water, there is a possibility that schools will be closed on Wednesday as well. Check here for more updates.

Following a consecutive decrease in the water level of the Yamuna river, there was a slight rise in water levels due to rainfall in certain parts of Delhi. As a result, the Directorate of Education (DoE) issued an order to close all schools located in the Yamuna bordering areas on July 17 and 18, 2023.

Considering the recent increase in water levels on Monday, there is a possibility that schools may also remain closed on July 19, 2023. However, no official confirmation has been provided by the authorities. Students are advised to stay updated on the situation or wait for official communication from their respective schools.

Official Notice:

As flood relief camps are expected to continue operating in schools situated in the affected districts of the DoE, namely East, North East, North West-A, North, Central, and South East, all schools (both government and private) in these districts will remain closed for students on July 17 and 18.

According to the notice, school heads in these districts have the freedom to conduct classes in either physical or hybrid mode (online or offline) based on the convenience of their students. They are required to inform parents in advance about their decision. The DoE has further stated that starting from Wednesday, all schools in every district will resume normal functioning.
