The Health and Family Welfare Minister mentioned that the government and the National Medical Commission (NMC) are committed to avoiding decisions that cause confusion among students.
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, stated that the National Exit Test (NExT) will not be applicable to the 2019 batch of MBBS students. He made this announcement while interacting with students at AIIMS Raipur during the inauguration of a critical care unit. Mandaviya assured that the Centre and National Medical Commission (NMC) will avoid making decisions that create confusion among students.
The recent guidelines issued by the NMC indicate that the National Exit Test will function as a comprehensive exam for final-year MBBS students, a licensing exam for practicing modern medicine, a qualifying exam for admission to postgraduate courses, and a screening exam for foreign medical graduates seeking to practice in India.
