The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to conduct special exams for students actively engaged in national or international sports events and international Olympiads during the scheduled dates for Class 10 and Class 12 board exams in February-March 2024. This move is aimed at supporting the academic aspirations of young individuals participating in both sports and educational competitions.
These unique exams are designed to accommodate students whose exam dates coincide with their involvement in national and international sports events, as well as international Olympiads, including relevant travel dates in 2024. Eligibility for these special exams requires sports recognition from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), while Olympiads must be acknowledged by the Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education (HBCSE).
It’s important to note that there won’t be separate opportunities for compartment or practical exams in the CBSE 2024 examination schedule. Schools intending to apply for these special exams must submit applications to the relevant regional office by December 31, along with recommendations from the Sports Authority of India and the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education. Students participating in these exams must obtain a certificate of participation from the designated officers of the respective organizations.
Since March 2018, CBSE has been offering special exams at a later date for students participating in National/International Sports Events when the CBSE Board exams align with the event dates, including travel dates for events recognized by SAI and BCCI. [Official Notification](#)
