Dharmendra Pradhan to chair ‘Centenary Year Convocation’ of JMI

Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan has been appointed as the chairperson of the ‘Centenary Year Convocation’ of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) scheduled for July 23. The convocation ceremony will be held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, and it is specifically for students who graduated in the academic years 2019 and 2020.
The Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, will attend the convocation as the Chief Guest, while Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Education Minister, will preside over the event. The invitation to chair the Centenary Year Convocation was extended to Shri Dharmendra Pradhan by JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar, and it was accepted with gratitude.
During their meeting, Prof. Najma Akhtar discussed JMI’s recent accomplishments and outstanding achievements with the Union Education Minister. It was noted that Shri Dharmendra Pradhan was already well-informed about the university’s notable feats. The Vice Chancellor also took the opportunity to propose the establishment of a medical college at JMI.
The presence of Shri Dharmendra Pradhan as the chairperson of the Centenary Year Convocation highlights the government’s support and recognition of JMI’s contributions to the field of education. The convocation ceremony will be a significant event for the university and the graduating students from the academic years 2019 and 2020.
