Dharmendra Pradhan to chair ‘Centenary Year Convocation’ of JMI

Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan has been appointed as the chairperson of the ‘Centenary Year Convocation’ of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) scheduled to take place on July 23. This convocation ceremony will be held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi and is specifically dedicated to the students who completed their studies in the academic years 2019 and 2020.

 

The esteemed presence of the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, as the Chief Guest, and Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Education Minister, as the presiding authority, adds significance to this event. JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar extended the invitation to Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, who graciously accepted the role of chairperson for the Centenary Year Convocation.

 

During their meeting, Prof. Najma Akhtar had the opportunity to discuss JMI’s recent achievements and outstanding accomplishments with the Union Education Minister. It was evident that Shri Dharmendra Pradhan was already well-aware of the university’s remarkable feats. Additionally, the Vice Chancellor seized the moment to propose the establishment of a medical college at JMI.
